And then there was Camp.......

Wow, God is really doing a TON of new things in our lives lately but ONE thing that is not new is Stars Week at Camp LuJo.

Here are a few shots from this past week, which is always a big hit! A friend and I went out to visit for Wednesday evening worship service and again on Friday night to pick up the girls. Here are some pictures of friends we've known for years and some new friends, too. What a blessing to be able to "go to camp" and find that God showed up ahead of you!

We had lots of fun and I had some really good conversations on the ride to and from camp. Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoy the pics!

Drop me a line and let me know how YOUR summer is going. Our summer is over half finished and time is whizzing by as we work on making this a quieter week. Not as fun for the girls but much better for charging the old batteries for this mom!

Our Honduras Mission Trip

Hope you enjoy our latest photos from our mission trip to Honduras.
We loved the people and the food was pretty good. The 5 hour bus trip to get to our worksite was NOT so much fun, but we survived!

Johnny and June

Just a little something to keep you busy while I'm away from the Blog-o-sphere.

I'm sure I'll come back with all sorts of stories from our adventure. Stay tuned, photos are sure to follow!

While we're away from the blog, check out this video. It reminds me of my grandmother.

Today is her birthday and boy do we miss her!

Happy 91st Birthday, Grandma! Keep the light on for us, we'll see ya later!

Please Pray for the Chapman Family

I have no words to explain how sad this news makes me feel. Please pray for the entire Chapman family.

I know that with grief this intense and unexpected one never "gets over it". Somehow, we just get THROUGH it.

".... though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil....."

Please pray God's comfort for all of their family.

All I wanted was a car.....

That's the title of a song on the newest Brad Paisley album (Fifth Gear)......

While that title is soooo true of ME at her age, our oldest daughter is way beyond that stage of thinking only about her first car. This is a young woman who has a plan and lots of goals ahead of her, don't ya know!

All the same though, she IS very very HAPPY about that new car!

Take a look at these pics and see if you don't agree that the fun loving, fashion conscious girl in her won out over the practical side.

I loved seeing her drive it and loved even more the way my own "adventure loving side" felt while I was riding in the back with the top down going down the interstate with the radio blaring!

Come on over, we'll give ya a ride! Maybe you'll find some of that fun loving attitude inside you, too!

Forever Faithful

You know that feeling when it seems that one more painful situation just keeps piling right on top of the last? Sometimes it feels like the speed of painful events just takes away even your ability to breathe.

I hope I remember this song next time my life gets that way. I know I'm not in control of those painful situations and I'm only trying to fool myself when I try to take the control for my life circumstances out of God's hands.

I struggle and struggle, only to remember (once again) that I am not able to "help God" even one little bit.

How about you? Listen to the song and I hope you can remember this song next time your life feels like this....

You have the power to change the world....

I know when moms & dads are in the daily grind of life, we don't always see the impact we make.

It's hard to look at what you're doing in the minute by minute tasks and know if what you're doing will really make a difference.

It can sometimes seem almost hopeless, as if you're spinning your wheels and not getting anywhere.

But from the end of the road, down life's pathway, if we look back with God's eyes, we can see that our efforts are literally changing the world!

My prayers are with you, whether you're a mom to a newborn baby, a dad raising teens on his own or even beyond that stage and into the lives of your grandchildren.

This video is by my friend Angel. I hope whether you're a mom or dad by birth or by adoption, that you'll see the work you do as having value in GOD's eyes.

You're making an awesome difference-
One little heartbeat at a time!

When Love Takes You In

Wow.

God is awesome, amazing and INDESCRIBABLE.

I can't yet share what God has been showing me lately but I can tell you I very well understand when the Bible says "But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." (Luke 2:19)

No, I am not Mary. God is not showing me anything so spectacular as the birth of the Messiah. But He is showing me some awe inspiring things. I can't share details but I can share the emotions and some of my heart strings that are being tugged today.

Happily I can share this small part of what God has been showing me.........

Family. Relationship. Love. That's what it's all about!

When Love takes you in... perfect song for the journey we are ALL on.

Click the video below and sit back for a while.... listen to the words.

Be Blessed, dear ones! My love to you all. My prayer for you tonight is that you will see God's love and blessings all around you.

Our First Ladies' Road Trip and Gratitude for Our Blessings

If you follow my not-so-often posts on myspace you know I've been out of town a few weeks ago on a Road Trip with the girls.

We had a wonderful time, were blessed to spend some time with my mom & dad while they are in Houston and were tickled pink to get to visit our absolutely wonderful friends, the Welch family in Louisiana. They were blessed to raise our "newest" son, Bryan, as their own Casey. (Disclaimer: We really just claim Bryan as ours, he truly is their son, in case you weren't here last year when we laid claim to him!)

Words can't express how special they made our trip and we even have photos to prove it- Check out the video posted below.

You'll see our favorite part of the Road Trip and then the second best part at the beach in Galveston.

Hope your spring is turning out wonderfully and please keep us in your prayers for a Blessed-by-God treatment regimine for dad while they are in Houston.

We hope to get down that way again soon and we'll be sure to visit the Welch family if we are able to run out their way again. I loved it so much I'd move there in a heartbeat if we were called to do that! Maybe we'll get to be there on AngelFood workday and help out with some of the work they do there. We'd love that!

Liz was quickly back in the swing of things at work and is almost done with her high school years, I'm having to hold her back to keep her from graduating this year. Thankfully her almost full time job has slowed down the bookwork a little bit.

Tori has decided she really DOES want to graduate from high school (realizing I will keep her in high school forever if she doesn't get with the program) and Jim- Well let's just say Daddy is relishing having us home with him and dreading our leaving town again!

It seems the "Reformed Loner" in him really missed us! I'd be tempted to say we didn't miss him but that would be lying. I'll just say we did miss him although we managed to keep ourselves busy so we didn't have time to miss him as often as he missed us.

Hope you enjoy the video. Drop me a line if you get a chance, I'd love to hear from you!

My prayer for you is that your Spring is filled with abundant blessings from above!
